The Feast - Muncie, IN

Laser-engraved wooden and bamboo plates were utilized for the first time. The simple table-top laser engraver I ordered worked far better than expected. While it still took hours to engrave each plate, the detail of each tribal seal is rendered exquisitely. I also added QR codes to the placemats that link to tribal websites for further engagement and visual representation. Smartphone usage was encouraged during the dinner for researching and sharing photos, traditions, dress, art, culture, histories and contemporary enterprises of the tribes.

As participants wrapped up their meal, I interrupted small table discussions to bring attention to the room at large. Participants were asked to share something they learned with everyone for a small prize. I was amazed how many hands raised!
